IN KERALA MOVIE THEATERS ARE CLOSED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ordered that all movie theaters should be closed in the state until March 31 Because of coronavirus which the producers and distributors in the industry have decided to honour chief minister request by closing the cinemas till March 16.
Due to the coronavirus and the new 6 cases of coronavirus of COVID-19 being reported in Kerala, these decision has been desided and also in kerala has reported totally 12 positive cases are confirmed.
M. Renjith, president of the Kerala Film Producers Association also conformed that the Cinema halls will be closed till 16th March.
And all new films of kerala has been postponed by this situation.
The Most theatres has been charged this
- basic fee of Rs.95 added with Rs.2 as service charge
- Rs.3 as welfare tax
- 12 percent for GST
- 1percent floodcess
- so the amount wii be to Rs 113 per a ticket.
- The state government added more 5 percent to increase on the basic fee for entertainment tax 😅and
- another 5 percent as GST
- so,the total now amounts to Rs 130.
Already there are very few people who comes to movie theatres these days. If the ticket charges are increased the number of the theatres which have spent crores of rupees are loss. Even with the increase in the ticket prices produces, distributors or theatre owners are getting loss by these problems are facing in that coronavirus has came all the movies theater has closed.
By the way new movie release of Mohanlal’s ‘Marakkar Lion of the Arabian Sea’ has been postponed due to this coronavirus.
