Celebrations of Holi in India
India is a country of festivals. We celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Holi is an important festival celebrated by the Hindus and celebrated at the end of the winter season and the beginning of spring. It is a colourful festival of great joy and enthusiasm so, also known as the festival of colour.
According to the Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on the full-moon night of the month of Phalgun is two days long festival first day is celebrated as Holika Dahan and second day as colourful. Holi celebration of Holi is related to the Hiranyakashyap, Prahlad and Holika. Holi is celebrated as a mark the victory of truth over evil, the victory of Prahlad over King Hiranyakashyap. Prahlad was a devotee of God. His father King Hiranyakashyap didnot believe in God. but he believed in his own powers. He tall to deviate his son's devotion to God and decided to kill him by burning him alive.
Prahlad's aunt Holika had a God-given boon that no one would be able to burn her in the fire. Holika agreed to hold Prahlad in her lap in the fire. The aunt got burnt and god saved young Prahlad.
Hence, the powers of the Supreme God defeated the false evil, At this occasion, people get involved in cleaning homes, arranging goods for delicious recipes, purchasing, etc from a few days ago. At this day people enjoy with delicious foods and sweets.Holi is a festival which considered as a day where people forget, forgive, make up broken relationships and got back to the happy world again.
They forget their differences and bad behaviour and play. Holi by throwing colours over them, applying abeer on the forehead and hugging each other.

People play with colours on the street by Holi songs and dancing on the music together with their family, friends and neighbours. Afternoon, people visit homes of each other to greet. The celebration of Holi varies according to the place and culture. At some places, there is a tradition of playing Holi in a white dress and putting beer at forehead in the evening and hug each other to show their love, affection and brotherhood
Some people do not celebrate the festival in the true spirit. They drink and use mud to scar other faces of their group. It should be avoided. We should play clean Holi. We should induce people to give up these activities and celebrate the festival in the right spirit because it is a festival of a lot of colours, friends and joy.

Holi also has a historical background based on a legend of king hiranyakashipu order that his sister to sit on a burning fire among with Prahlada.This is a most enjoyable day for Hindus. These day youngsters becomes kids as funny with colors.
